Shawn Fetty joins Cardinal Group as Vice President, Head of Real Estate Transactions

DENVER, CO – August 31, 2022 – Cardinal Group Companies (CGC), an industry leader in conventional, student, and affordable housing investment, development, and management, announces the hiring of Shawn Fetty as Vice President, Head of Real Estate Transactions.

In his role, Shawn will structure, negotiate and execute transactions across Cardinal’s student housing, conventional housing, and development verticals in close partnership with each of those teams. In addition, Shawn will focus on expanding Cardinal Group Investments’ organizational and risk management infrastructure.

Shawn has over ten years of experience negotiating and executing transactions for sponsors, investors, and lenders across the real estate industry. Before joining Cardinal Group, Shawn was Vice President at BlackRock and Assistant General Counsel of Property at Lendlease, a global, vertically-integrated development, investment, and construction company. Shawn began his career as a lawyer in the real estate departments at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, and Kaye Scholer LLP in New York. He earned his J.D. from Columbia University and his B.A. from the University of Chicago.
