Cardinal Group Companies names John O’Brien as Chief Administrative Officer

DENVER, CO – August 31, 2022 – Cardinal Group Companies (CGC), an industry leader in student, conventional, and affordable housing investments and property management, announced the recent promotion of its current VP of Finance, John O’Brien, to Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the company. In his new role, John will oversee the day-to-day operations of the corporate business and direct oversight of functions including finance, accounting, risk management, and business administration.

John has the unique distinction of being Cardinal Group’s first-ever team member and has been instrumental in the company’s growth from a single-owned managed asset to a nationally recognized industry leader in investments, management, and more. He has served as a VP of Accounting, Controller, and VP of Risk & Finance in his 12-year tenure at the company. In addition, he is a registered CPA.

John’s promotion continues a streak of strategic hires and promotions to facilitate the future growth of the business. Cardinal recently made strategic hires with a Head of Development and Head of Multifamily Acquisitions and expanded its property management senior executive team. Cardinal has grown 40% annually for the past decade and has a heavy growth plan for the foreseeable future.
