What’s your role?
Sr. Facilities Operation Specialist
Tell us about your Cardinal Journey
I was working at a community in June 2018 when we transitioned over to Cardinal Group. I was the MTL at the time and wasn’t sure about the change. I soon realized Cardinal was an amazing company that has more to offer than most, so I continued my journey and become a Traveling Facilities Manager in November of 2020 and was promoted again to a Sr. FOS in February of 2022.
What’s the most significant lesson you’ve learned in your time here?
The ability to be a better leader.
What do you find most exciting about your job? Most challenging?
The most exciting thing about my job is connecting with the onsite teams in order to make a stronger Team. I feel support is key to a successful Team. The most challenging times are usually when communities are short-staffed and located in a demographic that offers few skilled tradesmen.
If you could choose one word to describe your time at Cardinal, what would it be and why?
Gratifying, I have had more satisfaction growing with this Team than in any other Team I have ever worked with in the past.
What advice would you give yourself five years ago?
Wake up and do a little better each day, don’t be afraid of overcoming change and fears.
Who has been influential in your professional and personal life and how have they helped guide you?
I have the entire P&C Team to credit for my professional growth and wouldn’t be in my current role without their support and dedication. My wife has been my personal-support line during my journey supporting my travels and allowing me to follow my dreams.
What is your biggest motivator?
My Teams are obviously a huge motivational factor but my family and the ability to provide for them is what keeps my spirits high.
What’s something people may not know about you?
I have an obsession with anything that has an engine including boats and aircraft. I just recently purchased a new boat and currently looking for a classic car to restore.
What is your favorite college town in America?
(UNLV) This campus is unique as it sits 1.6 miles off the Las Vegas strip.
