What is your role? 

SVP, Head of Real Estate Services

Describe your Cardinal Journey (roles you previously worked in before your current position) 

I started my Cardinal journey as a Director, Preconstruction and Business Development in CG Construction on 1/08/2019.  After approximately 13 months, I was promoted to VP, CG Construction and took over the leadership role of the vertical service.  Since that time, I was retitled to SVP in 2022 when the organization retitled all the “Heads of” businesses.  Cardinal has gone through a lot of changes in the past five years.  I feel good about being able to contribute as a consistent and reliable leader at HQ in Denver in a time of such change.

 

How did you decide to join the Cardinal team? 

Before I came to Cardinal, I was a consultant for real estate companies and Cardinal was a client.  I had some exposure to Cardinal as a company and I really liked the organization.  When the opportunity to join Cardinal came up, I jumped at it.  One of the best decisions I’ve made.

 

What’s the most significant lesson you’ve learned in your time at Cardinal?

Culture truly is the differentiator.

 

What do you find most exciting about your job? Most challenging? 

The opportunity to be a leader is the most exciting part of my job, change and growth of services is the most challenging.

 

If you could choose one word to describe your time at Cardinal, what would it be and why?

Energizing

 

Who has been influential in your life (professionally or personally), and how have they helped guide you? 

Many people for sure, but I’ll highlight my friend and mentor Tom Stemple.  Tom is a successful entrepreneur that has founded and sold many companies.  He teaches me about mindset and opportunity mostly.  Nearly every time we talk, I walk away with a new perspective on the things I’m dealing with in work and in life, a new mindset that positively impacts me.

What’s something people may not know about you?  

I love documentaries about serial killers.

 

What advice would you give to someone starting out in the industry? 

Take the time to learn the investment principles, know your client’s business so you can help bring value to that.

What is your proudest moment working at Cardinal Group? 

Seeing my team members recognized, each and every time, is my proudest moment, followed closely by seeing my friends and peers at Cardinal recognized.

 

What is your biggest motivator? 

My biggest motivator is the idea of making my family proud of me.

 

What has been the most interesting change you’ve seen in the industry, and why? 

Tech impacts, labor shortage issues, going through COVID and the lingering impacts.

 

What is your favorite college town in America, and why? 

Fort Collins, CO, because that’s where my daughter is!
