What is your role?
HQ + Culture Manager
Describe your Cardinal Journey (roles you previously worked in before your current position)
I started my Cardinal Story as a Talent Advisor recruiting for Group 2. After some time, I was promoted to a Senior Talent Advisor role where I took on Agency FIFTY3 recruiting along with all our HQ roles. From there, I transitioned to the Turn Company as an Operations Coordinator where I was responsible for sourcing, onboarding, training, and managing 98+ Project Coordinators along with vendor sourcing for Turn. When the Turn Company and Cardinal Group Construction merged, I took the role of Operations Manager, working with the CG RES team to do change orders, vendor management, Project Coordinator sourcing and managing. Payroll for temporary contractors, and anything else the team needed help with. Most recently, I have taken the role of HQ + Culture Manager where I plan all our large corporate conferences, manage team retreats, host office happy hours, etc, and manage many other programs for our teams across the company.
How did you decide to join the Cardinal team?
I was working in high volume staffing and looking to transition into a career as an internal recruiter. When I saw the role open and found out I knew someone who worked here it was a no-brainer to apply!
What’s the most significant lesson you’ve learned in your time at Cardinal?
Asking questions is the best thing you can do! Sometimes it feels uncomfortable but I promise- ask the questions!
What do you find most exciting about your job? Most challenging?
Most exciting and challenging are one in the same with this current role. I LOVE to plan and execute our leadership summit every year. It is by far the biggest challenge and, in turn, the absolute most rewarding experience!
If you could choose one word to describe your time at Cardinal, what would it be and why?
Fulfilling. Coming to work doesn’t feel like a burden like it has at past jobs. I really enjoy the things I get to do every day.
Who has been influential in your life (professionally or personally), and how have they helped guide you?
My dad. He always has what seems to be the best advice or direction to provide me…. even if I don’t want to hear it at the time!
What’s something people may not know about you?
I am really compulsive about a lot of things that might seem insignificant. Like the way the dishwasher is loaded or the way the sheets go on the bed.
What advice would you give to someone starting out in the industry?
Make connections with people regardless of what team you/they are on or positions that you both hold within the company. Put yourself out there to learn new things or try something different. You never know what road it will lead you down.
What is your proudest moment working at Cardinal Group?
Watching people I initially interviewed as a Talent Advisor now getting promoted. I am also really proud to be able to be a part of the Leadership Summit process. Seeing everyone’s smiles and excitement about that week fills my cup!
What is your biggest motivator?
To provide great experiences for those I work with daily. I am dedicated to making Cardinal a great place to work through the experiences they get to have while here!
What has been the most interesting change you’ve seen in the industry, and why?
The advancement of AI in all things we do! It is incredible to watch how we incorporate it into our daily work.
What is your favorite college town in America, and why?
Well my college experience was in Greeley, CO. Maybe not the BEST college town in America but it was mine and BOY oh BOY did we have a blast there!
