What is your role?
Leasing & Marketing Team Lead
Describe your Cardinal Journey
I started as a Community Intern in Athens, Georgia while I was pursuing a degree in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Georgia. I then moved to Atlanta, Georgia and began working as a full-time Leasing Team Member before being promoted to the Leasing & Marketing Team Lead. After about 2 years in Atlanta, I was relocated to Miami, Florida to become the LTML at my current property, Lapis!
Who has been influential in your life, and how have they helped guide you?
The most influential person in my life has undoubtedly been Shane Warf. As my Community Manager for 4 years, he not only guided me in pursuing my career with Cardinal but also made a profound impact on my personal growth. His support and mentorship have shaped me into the person I am today, both professionally and personally.
What’s something you’ve learned at Cardinal that you carry with you daily?
My favorite core value: #6 – Bring your best each day and create fun. I aim to create a workplace that’s enjoyable not only for myself but also for my coworkers by fostering a comfortable and lively environment.
What high school class prepared you with the most skills for your career thus far?
My senior year literature class had the biggest impact on preparing me for my career – not because of the subject itself, but because of the incredible teacher. They genuinely cared about every student and helped me develop strong interpersonal skills while overcoming my shyness, which has been invaluable in my professional life.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The best piece of advice I’ve ever received is to embrace who I am, no matter what others think of my personality, style, or choices.
What are three books or podcasts you have found educational or inspirational?
Connectable, Hamlet, and Make Your Bed
If you could shadow anyone in the industry for a day, who would it be and why?
I would choose to shadow Courtney Travis. Every time I get to speak to her and every time I join a call she is hosting, she is always incredibly engaging and seems to have a lot of fun doing what she does. I’d love to learn from her!
